tokyo trip (part II)

adeh bila nak habis nih... tapi kalau x cerita x syok.


nih 2nd day of training. masa 1st morning, kitorg telah diberi guidance oleh our coordinator and another person (x sure what her role is in this whole thing... the one next to me in the above pic) mcm mana nak pergi kasumigaseki station (and namely JPO/APIC) from kitasenju. 2nd day of training patutnya utk budak2 automotive pulak, tapi aku dgn firdaus saja je join, sbb i) saja nak meramaikan crowd, and ii) x sure jln.

participants dr msia: fr left ajai, zaidi (automotive), n firdaus. masa ni dah petang, nak gi jalan2 shibuya n shinjuku. excited laa konon heheh

after class, kitorg pergi shinjuku. actually shinjuku ni byk tpt menarik (kabuki theater, hello kitty shop, etc.), tapi mcm mana tah, aku duk ingat kat shijuku ada tokyo metro gov building ni je. (yg tpt2 lain tu kat east side of the station, yg ni west side... or is it the other way around?) kat top floor of this building ada free observatory, n boleh tgk seluruh tokyo. on a clear day, we can even see mt fuji. heh, sampai pun dah mlm, nak tgk apanya. naik la jugak saja2 kan.

note: this is not the tokyo metropolitan government building. just some random unique-looking building i found interesting

fr left: me, wisnu, hotman (from indonesia), firdaus, mr.khan (pakistan), zaidi. somewhere on the way to tokyo metro building.

view fr the observatory. i think i need sth to filter out the reflection (forgot the nameof that thing). sume gambar nampak bayang aku je. tapi mmg seriously padat dgn bangunan aa tokyo ni (or at least, shinjuku). susah nak nampak kawasan yg xde bangunan tinggi2.

after that, tgk2 map mcm dekat je nak gi shibuya by foot. since sume org setuju nak jimat, so sume org pun x kisah. mr.khan asked somebody how far is it to go to shibuya, n org tu ckp 20mins je. kitorg pun oo oklah tu. jom jalan2.

tapi aku lupa, the average age of our group is 32. mana larat jln2 jauh2, sejuk pulak tuh. kasut pulak x berapa sesuai (pakai kasut kerja, sapa x sakit kaki.. org lain la, aku pakai kasut best je hehe). hehe so terpaksa berjln dgn slow. tapi tulah, bila slow, lagi rasa kesejukan. kesian gak aa kat yg selalu ngadu sejuk / lapo / sakit kaki tu. tapi nak buat mcm mana, heheh.

pastu lagi satu, boleh dah 30mins jln, still x nampak pun bayang shibuya tu. pelik gak, xkan terlepas kot. dgr cite shibuya tu terang-benderang. last2 tanya kat satu pak guard ni, dia ckp, "shibuya, 40mins, walking (sambil buat gaya robot jalan)." terkejut kitorg. last2 sbb sume dah x larat nak jln, naik JR train (130 yen). itu pun turun kat the next station. aku rasa kalau dr shinjuku kitorg naik metro, mesti around 160yen gak. xpe pengalaman.

shibuya bebeh! sampai gak aa kat shibuya crossing. dlm lonely planet ckp this crossing was made famous by the movie "lost in translation". err x tgk movie tu. tapi mmg seriously ramai org. pastu mostly pakai kot hitam je, mmg terasa boleh lost gak aa. dekat2 situ patutnya ada hachiko's statue, tapi x nampak pun. terlindung sbb ramai org kot. hehe.

tgh bincang nak gi mana lepas ni. last2 balik, sbb sume org dah penat / lapar / sakit kaki.

3rd day (jumaat). mlm tu kitorg gi akihabara lagi, so no interesting / new pics. tapi just nak bgtau, t/hari tu it was snowing! haha terbukti bukan aku sorg je jakun tgk snow, sbb masa tgh kelas, boleh sume org berbisik2 "snow, snow" sambil tgk tingkap. last2 bila speaker kasi break je, laju sume org gi tingkap bawak kamera. sempat gak turun bawah amik gambar.

oo during lunchtime gak aku jumpa atsueyan! haha tertinggal hp dlm coat, so mmg x perasan ko call ke, msg sume azian. gomen. last2 bila lunch break tgk ada missed call n msg. nasib azian call balik lepas tu, ckp dia tumpang berteduh kat post office (snow agak lebat time tu). aku dah cuak dah, mcm mana laa pulak aku nak cari main post office nih (call terputus tiba2 time tu)? punya la carik map sume kan, predict azian's moves (kalau keluar ikut gate ni, x kan teduh tpt jauh2 kot? hehe). last2 nampak seorang berkerudung pakai jaket merah tgh nak cuba dail hp. legaaaaa. pastu azian belanja makan italian. sedap. rugi x amik gambo.

aiyo x masuk weekend lagi nih. xpe sabar2...

tokyo trip (part I)

kitorg (firdaus my colleague and i) naik flight mlm to narita airport, tokyo. mula2 mcm jakun siket aa, x pernah naik JAL kan. siap bg makan sandwich sume. byk gak interesting in-flight movies, tapi disbbkan mengantuk, tido je la byk. pastu sampai narita kul 6 lebih dah. kat airport tu kena tahan (bukan arrest ye, stopped by) oleh polis kat situ. pastu amik our details, maybe sbb kitorg ni foreigners kot. polis tu siap ckp lagi yg crime rate kat jepun is increasing in the last 10 years, so diorg kena extra careful.

1st day, xde buat apa sgt (gambar dah letak kat prequel hehe). so jln2 sekitar are kita-senju station je. op before i forget, overview of the place where we stayed at:


kalau dr narita AP, kitorg turun kat sekiya station. pastu jln la dlm 10 mins gitu ke tokyo kenshu center aka TKC (now where have i heard that before? ;p). hehe mmg mata x pandang bawah la time tu, melilau je. dah la x faham apa2 kan. interestingly, keta x byk, tapi byk sgt pejalan kaki n yg bawak basikal. kejap2 dgr kring kring dr belakang nak mintak laluan.

the next day after class, kitorg jln2 di akihabara. the electric town of tokyo.

yodobashi akiba, one of the largest electronic store there. tapi kitorg x masuk pun, sbb duk cari duty free shops je heheh

actually our coordinator, yukiko-san ada bg map of duty-free shops there, tapi biasa la 1st-timer, dah ada map pun duk confuse lagi. last2 tanya this one jap guy. (tip: kalau nak tanya direction ke tpt mana, sebut nama tpt tu je, sambil guna tone utk bertanyakan soalan). "duty free?" mula2 mamat tu mcm x sure kat mana. dia mcm mundar-mandir kat area dia mula2 diri tu je. ingatkan dia x tau kan, so kitorg pun xpe la it's ok, arigato. sekali bila dah dlm 3-4 mins jln, tiba2 nampak mamat jap tu berlari ke kitorg. pastu dia bawakkan kitorg ke kedai yg kitorg nak cari tadi! semangat tu kejar kitorg balik kan. terharu gak aa time tu.

firdaus (err yg ni dr msia, pakai snowcap) n mr khan, rep from pakistan patent office. err mula2 ingatkan mr khan nak tunjukkan jln (sbb dia ckp dia dah dtg sini the year before), rupa2nya dia pun 2x5 gak heheh (err tapi seriously aku rasa my sense of direction is better than his)

akihabara dr jauh. there's laox, duty-free shop that has relatively cheaper stuffs


typical outlook of a japanese restaurant. kat depan mesti penuh dgn replika2 makanan diorg. meleleh beb tgk udang2, salmon sume tu. kalau typical soba restaurant, lain pulak rupanya

mr khan nak beli kebab. haha aku teringat yg k ida ke k syud cite diorg makan kebab, so bila aku ternampak kebab van ni mcm terexcited la, "eh eh kebab!". sekali mr khan ni iya2 ajak beli. sungguh2 dia tanyakan mamat penjual tu, "yea yea it's halal." tapi err mengenangkan yg masa tour kat office that morning, yg dia ckp kat coord dia makan ayam, so dgn politenya aku berkata, "it's okay, maybe some other time." lagipun 500yen, of course la kena fikir 2-3 kali kan. hehe. tergoda jugak la bau kebab yg best itu.

and sebenarnya bila dtg dan dtg lagi ke akihabara, the 3rd time masa kawan aku tanya halal ke x mamat penjual tu ckp "i dunno."

tokyo trip (prequel)

a few weeks ago, i got the chance to attend a training course in tokyo, japan. actually aku dah tau pasal trip ni dr end of last year lagi. tapi ye la, nothing is ever certain, so aku pun xde la nak excited mana. still i counted the days. i mean, tokyo okay... sapa x excited hehe. excited dlm diam.

tapi sampai la the week before nak pergi tu, still xde confirmation lagi. cuak jugak la, jadi ke x ni kan. nak plan apa2 pun payah, sbb x nak kecewa. bila dpt tau tu, apa lagi terus call sapa2 yg berkenaan. nak arrange flight, allowance, etc. hari tu jugak buat pasport.nak buat pasport tu satu hal jugak. as expected, my self-diagnosed palmar hyperhidrosis syndrome started to show. the scanner couldn't detect my thumbprints due to excessive sweating. bila dah jadi mcm tu, lagi la aku nervous... thus lagi susah nak detect. last2 pegawai imigresen tu suh aku gi jabatan pendaftaran negara suh diorg print mykad's chip content. nasib baik sebelah je... dibuatnya kat bandar lain ke, entah2 x dpt aku gi tokyo.

then, another problem: money. somehow kitorg xleh dpt duit tu before pergi. entah la, nak salahkan sapa pun x tau... tapi menyusahkan jugak la kan. sebabnya utk hostel pun kena bayar sendiri (bukan settle terus). dgn rate 6000yen / night, of course kena guna banyak duit sendiri dulu kan? belum campur transportation, makan, beli-belah, etc. nasib baik bapaku came to the rescue (actually i came to him, dgn muka malu2 mintak pinjam duit). yen pulak tgh tinggi... 1000Y = RM 39.5. aduii pening kepala.

k pau yg awesome pun byk membantu (uu yea kipas). dgn rela hati k pau bg pinjam buku lonelyplanet:tokyo yg sgt membantu.. kalau aku baca awal2 lagi hehe (sbb bila dah sampai tpt tu baru terhegeh2 nak baca.. last2 sesat gak). dgn dtg rumah nak kasi periuk lagi (yg bila dah balik sini baru aku tau k pau x pernah guna pun periuk tu... terharu siot), siap kasik a few last minute tips lagi... x lupa juga pada k ida, k syud n wati yg byk kasik tips jugak. oo radhi pun ada kasik tips pasal habiskan duit syiling, sbb xleh tukar balik. sgt berguna, sbb 500yen pun dlm bentuk syiling, RM2 tuu.

gambar2 taken on the 1st day. dammit aku cite byk sgt pasal pre-departure, i haven't even touched on tokyo itself. better do it next time. sudah terlalu panjang.

pada suatu hari...

checked family list @ esp@cenet, check parent file's status @ CS:

-oo dah granted dah la. US claims > MY claims. mungkin dia nak grant claims that are not included earlier? ini sudah bagus.

requested for the parent file. urgent lagi.
after one hour:

-eh dah sampai dah? TQQQQQ

cepat2 bukak child file. bukak parent file gak. suka tgk granted patent ni. uu excited2

-boleh tambah satu lagi 1st comm file. syiok!

semangat baca child claims. compared dgn correspond US claims. sume ada ni (lebih kurang laa)... best2. moving on to the parent file:

-uik ada kat parent jugak those claims? ini sudah bagus, dah kira double patenting ni. worait boleh adverse sudah...

tiba2 terpikir:

-US patent granted 2004, dia file for divisional 2006. xkan dia x tau yg claims ini sudah granted? (check applicant's letter). confirm dia tau yg dulu dah grant. why? why? why??? mungkin x dia nak maksudkan lain sebenarnya? different scope, perhaps?

baca balik child claims.

-ha'ah la. ada beza siket la dr yg dulu... aisehman, kena baca betul2 balik nih. ni sudah dikira full nih.

hujan batu di negeri sendiri, sedap lagi makanan negeri sendiri.

pagi2 sebelum gi kelas, lagu tu la yg aku dgr kat tv. tah, rancangan budak2 kot. semangat gak japanese nak terapkan english language kpd budak2 kecik. pastu mlm2 pun ada rancangan charo yg ajar english jugak. boleh la ikut siket2. sbb nak tgk channel lain x paham hehe.

gambar? lambat lagi kot. x byk pun amik, byk gambar tah hapa2 je. ok la, dpt merasa snow di tokyo. twice. kalau turun byk lagi confirm boleh buat snow angel. best2.
